Yes, and it should have been done a long time ago. I do not see the point of opening an embassy in Jerusalem, however: Israel is small in size, and Tel-Aviv already had a fine embassy, so opening another one in Jerusalem does nothing but waste the taxpayers' money. Not to mention that Tel Aviv is quite a bit safer a city than Jerusalem is currently, which is essential for ambassadors to be able to feel happy and focus on their work.

a) Jerusalem is occupied territory and as per instruments of international law such as the UN Charter and UNSC Res 478 any annexation of the the land to form a capital is an international war crime.

b) That Israel is not the legitimate power over all of Jerusalem is one of the most agreed points in all of international politics

c) It destabilised an already shitty Middle East situation, one of the most volatile areas in the world that is a a massive security risk for Western nations.
